So I’ve decided on a new non conventional fashion photography project.

I want to photograph real people– people who have inspired me, & I want to try and capture them as fully as possible in one moment in one photograph (or a series of photographs)

So many of my friends don’t think they are beautiful ….in fact a lot of models don’t either…

it’s scary how idealized the fashion industry has become sometimes… beauty has been marketed as a product for so long that it seems we subconsciously forget to tune out the ads with the stick thin photoshopped models and keep them away from our inner psyche…

Also… I have not been able to convince any of my friends to not wear makeup out in public. It’s an interesting phenomenon… makes me wonder why we must conceal our ‘imperfections’… and why we don’t learn to see imperfect people as beautiful…which brings me to the thought that human nature is so superficial.

whatever happened to valuing the things that go deeper?

I know you’ve all probably seen this video a million times or have heard the song…

but I think time and time again.. it’s good to remind people that they’re amazing ( & beautiful) just the way they are.

so I haven’t really been updating this blog for a long while, but a lot has happened since!

I’ve had the privilege of shooting some amazing models from NEXT Models and a lot of new work has been added to my book!

let’s see….what have I been up to these few weeks?a few shoots and a lot of post! stay tuned for some new photos as well as a revamping of my website! (the one I have up currently is a self constructed temporary site!)

On another note, I had a blast at Modern Mix Vancouver ‘s one year anniversary party at Suki’s on South Granville tonight:)!

Cru Restaurant was the generous sponser of delicious appetizers, Ganache Patissterie sponsered the decadent desserts and Qoola provided a yummy yogurt bar with lots of toppings!

I am proud to say that I have been a part of such an interesting,informative, fashion forward blog! Modern Mix Vancouver aka MMV has come quite a long way since its inagural wordpress template with the tiny happy face in the corner! With an ever growing staff of contributing writers and photographers, I’m looking forward to see what this next year will have in store!
